02 10 2005 - 9th anniversary of Vilnius Hitch-hiking Club
|
The 9th anniversary of VHHC was celebrated on 30 September - 2 October, 2005.
Club's birthday celebration is an annual event with traditional awards for the best club's travellers of the year and inauguration of club's novices. The award of the best female traveller of the year went to Marija Karpickaja and the award of the best male traveller of the year - to Dainius Kinderis. It is already the second time when these two travellers were awarded as the best travellers of the year.
There were even 38 participants from Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine and UK in the birthday party.

Club's member Dainius Kinderis started his hitchhiking trip to Morocco. Few days ago he has reached this country by ferry from Spain. Today he began to move from Tangier towards Tetouan by hitchiking. |

01 05 2005 - Hitchhiking competition "Baltics 2005"

The 10th annual public hitchhiking competition "Baltics 2005" were organized in Lithuania and Latvia. Competition started in Vilnius and after 2 control points in Lithuania and 2 in Latvia, has finished in Vilnius. 13 pairs of participants took part in this event. First time in the history of "Baltics" competition two foreigners took part in mixed teams with Lithuanians - one Spanish guy and one German.
Winners of the 1st place are Dainius Kinderis (VHHC) and Lina Jokubauskaite, 2nd - Lina Ratkeviciute (VHHC) and Robertas Maliauka, 3rd place - Lina Kulbyte and Martynas Jonkus. Congratulations for winners! |

Traditional gathering of Ukrainen hitch-hikers "Elba" took place last weekend. Four hitchhikers from Vilnius Hitch-hiking Club Andrius Jankaitis, Dainius Kinderis, Julija Glinskyte, Marius Sugentaitis have participated in this event.
