05 10 2009 - 13th anniversary of Vilnius Hitch-hiking Club

This weekend we have celebrated the 13th birthday of Vilnius Hitch-hiking Club. The club's birthday celebration is an annual event with traditional awards for the club's best travellers of the year and the inauguration of club's novices. This year there were
31 participants from Lithuania, Latvia, Germany and UK. During the weekend celebration the traditional annual awards were issued for the best female hitch-hiker of the year (Katja Lachman, over 18.000 km) and the best male hitch-hiker of the year (Augustas Kligys, over 21.000 km). It should be noted that Katja Lachman has now received this award for the fourth consecutive(!) time (she also received it in 2006,2007 and 2008). It is the first time in the club's history that a female traveler has been awarded this award 4 times. Augustas Kligys received the award for the third time.

13 09 2009 - Andrius and Vita back from Iceland&Faroe

After spending 11 days in Iceland and 5 days in Faroe Islands, clubs members Andrius and Vita just returned to Vilnius. |

Over 40 hitchers have gathered in Lithuanian Hitch-hiking Gathering. Mainly Lithuanian participants attended, but we had several hitchers from Germany, Finland and China as well.

31 05 2009 - Dainius Kinderis back from East Africa

After spending 16 days in East Africa, clubs member Dainius Kinderis just returned to Vilnius. He visited Rwanda and Uganda, hitched about 1100 km. |

25-26 04 2009 - Public hitch-hiking race "Baltics 2009"
|
Annual public hitchhiking competition "Baltics 2009" took place in Lithuania and Latvia. It has been organized by Vilnius Hitch-hiking Club.
39 pairs from Lithuania and 1 from Latvia have participated! This is a new record in Lithuania! |

14 11 2008 - Lina hitchhiked in the 6th continent in VHHC history!

VHHC member Lina Jokubauskaitė has recently emerged into club's history after hitchhiking on australian soil: she and her husband Vilius hitchhiked from Melbourne to Canberra, then Sydney and Brisbane. |
