First non-professional Vilnius Hitch-hiking Club's (VHHC) web site appeared in spring 1997 at server of Vilnius Gediminas University of Technology. It was run by members of the club who had no experience in creating web sites.

Later the web site was relocated to Open Society Fund (OSF) server. English site designed by Andrius Iskauskas was started in autumn 1997. It was granted a first prize for the best design in an OSF web sites' championship in 1997.

In summer 1998 www.kiborg.net designers worked on Lithuanian web site. From April 1st, 1999 domain www.autostop.lt was activated, and VHHC web site was placed in Informacijos Tiltas server.

August 30, 1999 we have presented the newest design of English website. Persons who helped in creating the site: webmasters Augustas Kligys and Vladas Sapranavicius, main designer Vaidotas Kucas, FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) is managed by Laurynas Butkus, some English - Lithuanian translations are prepared by Asta-Maja Dziovenaite.

In the 5^th Lithuanian web-page contest our site won the first place in the "One Theme" category. The same year website was moved to 5ci webserver and in year 2002 migrated to ICDSoft server.
